That's what I find so clever about the novel. On the one hand, it's literally 'otherworldly'; on the other, the themes couldn't be closer to home... Also, the fact that it was written nearly 100 years ago yet is so relevant to the present makes you wonder how much we're truly evolving.
Loved this refreshing take on the importance of fiction in world-building. Really liked the idea of a 'taste council'. Looking forward to more essays on similar themes!
This was a great read packed with insights. It's interesting to think about how storytellers have influenced some of the greatest builders in history, including some of the most successful modern entrepreneurs like Sergey and Bezos. Also agree that we need more vision for Mars because Elon can't do it all alone.
"Despite all their shortfalls, Cat People believe they’re the best Martian civilisation" Why does this sound so much like us on this planet already?

Thanks a lot Prakhar! There's probably some cool product/design manifestation of 'taste councils' as well...

Thanks for your constant support Athanasios!
Indeed, stories turn planets into worlds... Mars can apply the Earth playbook, but hopefully with much more sustainable implementation.
